At present, in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, drying equipment generally has the following problems: ① Long drying time, low thermal efficiency, and poor mixing effect; ② The material adheres to the wall and forms lumps, requiring reprocessing. ③ Residue of equipment materials, cross-infection, difficulty in equipment cleaning, and easy contamination of products; ④ During the drying process of the product, lumps usually occur, and the moisture is trapped in the hard lumps, making it impossible to achieve a good drying result. However, installing a crushing knife can effectively solve this problem, and the benefit it brings is that the wet material will not stick to the inner wall of the device or areas that the agitator cannot reach. However, the internal structures of rake drying and cone drying are restricted in the installation of crushing knives. ⑤ In terms of cleaning, due to the fact that the lowest point at the very bottom of the paddle dryer is a straight line, the cleaning solution and dissolved products cannot be completely discharged, and there is a considerable amount of residue, resulting in average GMP compliance. However, due to the narrow space at the bottom of the conical dryer and the fact that the stirring shaft is vertically installed, the bottom area of the equipment is not within the cleaning range of the spray balls, which brings difficulties in cleaning.
The spherical dryer is a new type of vacuum stirring and drying equipment used in pharmaceutical production. It is a highly engineered and precisely processed new device that can efficiently mix and dry products under vacuum conditions by utilizing heat input. It is used in the production of pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and flammable and explosive industries. The spherical dryer introduces many advantages of spherical containers, such as pressure resistance, large surface area and no dead corners in the inner cavity, into the drying of materials, forming a new type of dryer. However, at present, many materials tend to agglomerate and form lumps during the drying process using spherical dryers available on the market, resulting in moisture being trapped within the hard lumps of the materials and failing to be effectively dried. The drying effect is not obvious and it takes a long time.

Wuxi Shuangrui Machinery has developed a new type of spherical vacuum dryer in response to the problem that many materials tend to agglomerate and form lumps during the drying process, causing moisture to be trapped in the hard lumps of the materials and unable to be effectively dried. The drying body is divided into an upper sphere and a lower sphere, which are connected by a hinge. The main body of the dryer is equipped with a crushing device for breaking and granulating raw materials. A sealing device installed on the output shaft between the upper spheres to prevent raw material leakage, a filtration device for filtering out the material liquid, and a stirring device for stirring, drying, mixing and reaction. This multi-functional spherical dryer has added a mechanism for crushing agglomerated materials, which can obtain materials with relatively uniform particle sizes, improve the drying effect, shorten the drying time, and obtain materials with uniform particle sizes.
The working principle of spherical vacuum dryer
Before adding the materials, first rotate the lower hemisphere to close the upper hemisphere through the spherical opening and closing device. Then, use the oil cylinder to drive the clamp to rotate and close the quick lock, and finally close the discharge valve. Open the feed valve to inject materials, close the feed valve, start the heating system, vacuum system and dry gas sealing system. The stirring paddle and crushing knife start to operate, and at the same time, start the dust removal filter.
After the material has been dried for a certain period of time, open the vacuum sampling valve to take a small amount of sample to test whether it meets the requirements of the finished product. After the material drying is completed, the vacuum system is turned off. The dust removal filter and the crushing knife stop working. Open the vent valve, appropriately reduce the rotational speed of the blades, and finally open the discharge valve to take out the finished product.

The main features of the spherical vacuum dryer
The spherical vacuum dryer is developed and designed in response to the requirements of high-efficiency aseptic drying processes, solving the problem of heat-sensitive drying. Through the integration of aseptic processes, it achieves aseptic production throughout the entire process and meets CGMP requirements. Its drying efficiency is the same as that of the fully open dynamic dryer, and the drying is uniform. Less residue in the discharged material and higher CIP efficiency.

Technical improvement of spherical vacuum dryer
The spherical vacuum dryer reduces the caking of materials, making the material particles finer and more uniform, and the moisture evaporates more easily, thereby improving the drying effect, significantly enhancing the drying efficiency and shortening the drying time.

The top-driven spherical dryer can be easily opened by rotating the lower half of the sphere, allowing for quick inspection at any time. This operation can be simply achieved by touching the button and using the hydraulic partial rotation actuator to open the quick lock.
